Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Project

Barcelona, 4-5 november 2013

The representatives of ISLAH project partners institutions met in Barcelona to participate to a dual event: on one hand, the meeting on the governance of the Mediterranean universities and the future perspectives of higher education system in this region took place on the 4th November; on the other hand, the Steering Committee of the ISLAH project took place on the 5th November.

The meeting, co-organized by AlmaLaurea in collaboration with the University of Tarragona and the EPUF network  (European Permanent University Forum), represented an important occasion for exchanging and reflecting together to strengthen the relations between the South Mediterranean countries and between both shores of the basin.

It included the contributions of Prof. Ilan Chet, Vice Secretary-General for Higher Education of the Union for the Mediterranean, of Marcello Scalisi, Executive Director of the Union of Mediterranean Universities, of Nuri Mohamed Elbasha, representative of the Lybian ministry of Higher Education, of Josep Mateu, representative of the Social Counsil of the University of Barcelona, of Anna Prades, representative of the Agency for Quality of Higher Education in Catalonia, of Houdaifa Ameziane, President of the University Abdelmalek Essaâdi of Tetouan-Tangier, of Salah Boumaiza, Vice President of the University of Jendouba, of Lobna Saidi, representative of the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and of Rahmani Elkefi, Director of the National Observatory for Employment and Qualifications in Tunisia.

The meeting of the Steering Committee allowed the partners to exchange on fundamental topics in relation with the technical and administrative management of the project.
